Life Threatening Experience inspires Hollywood Designer’s New 2011 Spring/Summer Apparel Line
Hollywood Fashion Designer, Antoinette Newhouse is thrilled to announce her new 2011 Spring/Summer collection featuring signature children's boutique clothing for both girls and boys. The 2011 Spring/Summer line was delayed due to the near death experience that Antoinette endured which was a severe anaphylactic reaction to a prescribed medication. For the first time in the history of Three Peas Co, the new line will feature several women's pieces reflecting a "mommy & me" style.

Designer Antoinette Newhouse quickly received attention for her designs (Three Peas Co) when Noah Cyrus was photographed/videotaped wearing her designs on the red carpet most notably at the Teen Choice Awards in 2009. Young Hollywood quickly took to her designs including Keana Texeria, Emily Grace Reeves, Brittany Curran, Madison Delagarza, Allyson Arms, Keana Texeira, Christa Texeira, Bella Thorn, Nolan Gould and Paris and Destinee Monroe.

Inspiration for the new 2011 line is drawn from Antoinette's recent near death experience which was a result of a severe anaphylactic reaction to an antibiotic that lead to severe dehydration and hypovolemic hyponatremia. Antoinette recalls, "Once stabilized, the Emergency Room Doctor stated that I was an hour away from death if I did not receive immediate treatment." Antoinette continued, "this was a huge wake-up call, which I took the time to reflect on what was important in my life, family, kids and sharing my talent with not only kids but also women."

Britax Recalls Infant Car Seats

Britax Child Safety is recalling 19,601 Chaperone infant car seats due to a defective chest clip. The chest clip's purpose is to position the chest straps correctly across a child. The child seats were recalled after 400 complaints of broken chest clips. According to Britax, the chest clip was produced incorrectly by the manufacturer.

The recall includes the following models, manufactured between April 2009 and May 2010:

Thee Peas Co apparel lands New Teen Vampire Book Cover

Feb 25, 2010 – "Beauty is the Beast", the book cover for the highly anticipated teen vampire thriller, "Soulstice: Luna's Dream" was revealed to eNassau Coliseum in New York last weekend. The stunning cover features a “one of a kind” Three Peas Co couture gown designed by Antoinette Newhouse. Based on the screenplay of the upcoming motion picture, "Soulstice: Luna's Dream" was co-written by 15-year old singer/actress Keana Texeira, slated to star as the lead character, Luna Tremaine in the film.

"Soulstice: Luna's Dream" chronicles the saga of 15-year old vampire Luna Tremaine, set in the sleepy coastal town of Crescent City, CA. Yet the similarities to other vampire stories end there.

Commissioned to design the gown, designer Antoinette Newhouse met with lead character Keana Texeira and T2PR (Publicist for Book & Movie) to develop creative direction for the gown that would emulate the character. Antoinette then researched for vintage ball gown designs that she could turn into a one of kind piece. Material used was vintage lace, sumptuous satin and chiffon to create the look for the character, Luna Tremaine.

"The person on the cover is the one that inspired the vision...you helped complete it and take it to a whole other level. Images inspire writers and your work with Keana is what inspires. You take what is inside and bring it out” Lance Dow, co-author & screenwriter of Soulstice said about Three Peas Co designer Anoinette Newhouse.

The one of kind couture dress further enhanced the lead character who is the first female vampire to believe in God. "Soulstice: Luna's Dream" chronicles the saga of 15-year old vampire Luna Tremaine, set in the sleepy coastal town of Crescent City, CA. Yet the similarity to other vampire stories ends there. The story follows Luna as she enters into puberty, peer pressure, bullying, faith, the thrill of a first love, sibling rivalry, and other real-life issues a teenager (vampire or human) has to face everyday. "Put Bella Swan and Laura Croft together at 15, that would be Luna" says Lance Dow, co-author & screenwriter of the film.

The story climaxes with an action-packed fight scene between Luna and her bestfriend Lily Burgoyne, against their adversaries "The Killer Bees", a trio of bullying cheerleader vamps. "The book and movie were written so tweens & teens are able to relate to it based on personal life experiences they go through being a teenager. It debunks what most people believe about vampires and will definitely bring a fresh perspective on the genre. The fight scene ending, brought about when the "Bees" set sites on killing Luna's love, 16-year old human, Paul James, promises to be of shocking and epic proportions" promises Dow.

Filming for the movie begins this summer. "Soulstice: Luna's Dream", the first book in the saga will be released April 1st, 2010. Three more books, "BITTERSWEET REQUIEM", "ASCENSION", and "AT DREAM'S END" are set to follow.

Celebrating the first book and to coincide with the upcoming prom season will be the release of the soundtrack song and Keana's new single, "Luna's Dream" available on iTunes in late March.

Did J.Lo really Wear That Outfit?

Style is always something on a celebrities mind when it comes to performances, awards shows and when they are going to be seen in the spotlight or caught on camera.

Since launching Three Peas Co. in 2008, we have styled many gorgeous celebrity babies, toddlers, teens and ladies. Never in my right mind would I have ever recomended to an A-List client to wear an outfit that lacks such taste let alone made their famous attribute look saggy! This is seriously a breakdown in client stylist relationship for sure.

As a red carpet specialist, I take pride in making sure my client not only gets press for looking fabulous but ensure that their attributes are complimented as well.

You are probably asking yourself, how would I have done it better or how did her stylist flub on such a level? This has got to be one of the easiest celebrities to dress. How could they have got it so wrong? The unfortunate look is defining her career as washed up and an attempt to save it.

So here is my style recommendation: first would be a structured look that complimented her figure. A slender pant and vest. Next would be color; JLo has amazing skin color and would be able to make an unforgetable statement with color instead of a flabby rear. Fuschia, magenta, red, anything but a nude/black body stocking.

Dehumidifiers that can start fires recalled by consumer protection agency

Nearly 100,000 dehumidifiers are being recalled after reports of 11 incidents of property damage, including four building fires, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said.

The Chinese-made dehumidifiers, manufactured by LG Electronics Tianjin Appliance Co., were sold under the Goldstar and Comfort-Aire brands at Walmart, Home Depot and Heat Controller Inc. The dehumidifiers also are being recalled by Health Canada.

Those who have the dehumidifiers are asked to stop using them immediately.

In a news release, the CPSC said the power connector to the unit's compressor can short circuit, which can cause a fire.

The models being recalled have a 30-pint reservoir, a red shut-off button, a front loading bucket as well as fan and humidity controls. They were sold for $140 to $150 between January 2007 and June 2008.

Texas School Suspends Taylor Pugh for Long Hair - Sphere News

Looking to the news for this mornings current events, I stummbled across this ridiculous story of a little boy being suspended for having what the district he lives in refers to as long hair.

Wow, the first thing that comes to mind is that my own son would be kicked out of this school. He too has long surfer hair!

Aside from long hair, the little boy is planning to donate his hair to the cancer society. In a perfect world we would honor this child for his foresight and compassion for others.
Sadly not only has this school suspended him but has put him on a in school isolated suspension where he is not allowed to play with his friends.

This story also is dear to me in that my own son is very attached to his hair. At 4 years old he is into the surfer look and has cried when we attempted to go to the salon for just a trim. My husband and I completly support him, his style choice and desire to have "long hair."

The other interesting part is that many years ago, for a short time I lived in the very district referred to in this article and got in minor trouble. Being originally from CA, I was not aware that it was mandatory to wear nylons under your dresses in Texas Schools, I was non-compliant and sent home to change. Differences I guess!

Worn pinned along the sides of the hair like a middle school girl at Diane Von Furstenberg, wrapped around the head like a perfect present at Jason Wu and tied around a side ponytail at Milly, bows were a beauty headliner. Not since the 1980s have hair bows been this stylish. And the trend seems to be channeling the decade, too. Over the top and oversized (think Madonna during her Like a Virgin days), as well as smaller ones worn two and three at a time (after all, it was the decade of excess) were the most notable styles parading down the runway. Fabrics were equally extreme, with taffeta, chiffon and patent leather among the most decorative.According to the pros, to look less Material Girl and more modern-day, size and placement matter.

The Federal Trade Commission just announced their new guidelines for "Product Endorsements". These guidelines will have an immediate impact on advertisers, marketing agencies and individual endorsers like celebrities and mom bloggers. Why, because they truth must be told about what type of payment, if any was received and what product was given free to the reviewer or endorser.

The new Rules will go into effect December 1, 2009. The press release and link to the report can be found here http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2009/10/endortest.shtm . The effect on "mom bloggers" and "word of mouth agencies" will be played on during talk shows and on social networks because they are obligated to disclose their affiliation with the advertiser. Comments from Joe Chernov, VP of Communications and Marketing for Word of Mouth agency BzzAgent said that he supported the new guidelines and felt that the guidelines clearly establish what's right and what's wrong.

We currently came across these images from NY Fashion week that made us cringe. The Snuggie blanket runway Fashion Show (Oxymoron if there ever was one). Snuggie is introducing new textiles offerings that are sure to entice you to purchase if you have not already! In addition, they are now offering Snuggies for kids and dogs. We know that our Children through Teens apparel line does not always meet every body's fashion sense but at least we know what is cutting edge and what is not. Here we go again! Well, not really with Three Peas Co but the "style-haters". This time it is with Michelle Obama and the shorts that she choose to wear during a recent visit to the Grand Canyon on a vacation visit with her daughters during August. Grand Canyon August average temperature is 83 degrees.

The shorts, pictured above, are mid thigh length and appropriate for walking/hiking in the desert.

What is the controversy with Michelle Obama's shorts?

According to the Business Week article, the Today show, "some" are calling her fashion choice inappropriate—but the article quotes only those who support the look or, in the case of Washington Post fashion writer Robin Gihven, those who are "ambivalent" about bare legs for an August hiking trip in Arizona". They could not find anybody who actual said they were upset with the length of the shorts but sited the usual suspects as commenting on this, the Examiner, Huffington Post and LaTimes blog. Do any of these ring a bell? They should! All of these same publications wrote about Noah Cyrus and her alleged Pole dancing routine at the 2009 Teen Choice Pre-party. These articles started a national debate as to the parenting merits of the Cyrus's, morality of adults in attendance and behavior of this little girl(s) Noah Cyrus and friends. There is no wonder that most creative fashion purist come from other Europe. Let's help our kids learn early on to feel comfortable in expressing who they are and to not have issues (yes, I said issues) about their appearance.

1 million play yards recalled due to faulty latch
Side rails can collapse unexpectedly, resulting in at least one concussion
About 1 million play yards have been recalled because the side rail can fail to latch properly. A child who pushes against it could fall.
The play yards are sold under the brand names of Kolcraft, Carter's, Sesame Street, Jeep, Contours, Care Bear and Eric Carle. They're manufactured in China, Spain and Italy and distributed by Kolcraft Enterprises Inc. of Chicago.
The company has received 347 reports of play yards' sides collapsing, resulting in 21 injuries, including a concussion, as well as bumps, scrapes and bruises.
The play yards were sold online as well as by Babies R Us, Walmart, Kmart, Sears, Target and other stores around the country between January 2000 and January 2009.
The play yards were produced between December 2000 and July 2008 and sold for between $49 and $160.
